Jean-Michel Othoniel présente au Carré Sainte-Anne une cinquantaine de ses sculptures en verre issues de sa, collection personnelle de ses propres oeuvres, rassemblées dans une installation unique imaginée pour le lieu. Pour l'artiste, se collectionner soi-même correspond à un désir de se soustraire au monde. Se faire violence et décider de montrer au public sa propre collection de soi fait partie de l'ambivalence des sentiments qu'il place au coeur de son travail.

Jean-Michel Othoniel presents at the Carré Sainte-Anne some fifty glass sculptures from his personal collection of his own works, gathered in a unique installation imagined for the space. For the artist, collecting oneself corresponds with a desire to escape the word. Foregoing his reticence and showing this collection of his works to the public is representative of the ambivalence of feelings that he places at the heart of his work.
